The masks
we wear upon
our face..
are truths
we struggle
to embrace.
About ourselves,
about the world.
About our past
of right and wrong.
The truths we
speak of not,
unless we’re
asked.
And even then,
we bend
and twist them
to make
fables that still
fit our facts.
So long as we
don’t know
what’s known
by those
who question
us.. we
are still safe.
We are
still in control
of carrying
their silent
weight.
The Ones
who live in truth
need not concern
themselves with
sleuthing through
the faces that
conceal a mask.
Living in truth
lies in our liberty
to walk away
from fables
that don’t speak..
except through acts.
