Poem 82

a lonesome journey,
the hermit’s odyssey,
towards a reconciliation
of all his paradoxes
and theodicies.

travelled he hath across the land..
across a tundra’s permafrost,
across a desert’s sand,
and sailed he hath across a many stormy sea.
many a god and devil on the way embodied he.
yay, he hath ventured distantly,
yay, he hath travelled far,
but hath he yet become a dancing star?

the thread of fates revealed to him his path,
and many guiding whispers from his muses
on the way received he hath.
the road ahead of him laid rough and thorny,
that much he understood,
but still, without a moment’s hesitation,
crossed he hath a thousand miles by foot.
and eager still remains his heart to cross a thousand more.
what did he undertake this lonesome journey for?
if not to grasp the truth.
