How dare eye,
carelessly,
presume to be
the mouthpiece
for הַשֵּׁם?

Shall I be crucified
or excommunicated
for such grievous and
heretical offense?

Truth is..
I never claimed
to be the lips
or tongue that
animates
the motions
of His mouth.

I never claimed
to be The Eye
that sees
The All
of truth
beyond
the shadow
of my doubt.

I merely am
The One
of many
humble
servants
called
‎יד אל

…who followed,
blindly, leads
from Him,
inscribed
as ghostly
footsteps.

How bold
of me, indeed,
in modern
times as well..
to write
an aria
for אֵל
to sing
Himself.
