Poem 81

a dark and gloomy cloud looms overhead.
a thunder’s distant rumble barely overheard.
a hermit stumbles blindly through an empty field.
his heart still aches, it hasn’t fully healed.
heavy raindrops fall upon him, drench him wet.
what is he out here looking for?
is he delusional? or is his brain upset?

he falls upon the ground,
he takes another stumble,
and then he hearkens to the thunder’s rumble:
frequent, menacing, and loud.
and then he pleads his heart out
to the dark and gloomy cloud.

he looketh for his lightning..
he wanteth it to strike him..
either in the heart or in the head.
to strike him finally alive
or terminally dead.
