If life is built
upon our dreams,
our only option
must be to dream big.
What does it matter
that our labors
presently remain
unseen?
They tell us,
“Twice the pride,
double the fall..
if you may fail,
why trouble
with the strife
of striving
to succeed
at all?”
But slither
on the ground
we shan’t
on that account.
Still we shall strive
for more.
If fall we must,
our fate is just
as damned
as for The Ones
who never climbed.
At least, unlike the rest,
we shall descend
with both our heads
and chests held high.
As morning stars,
we shall descend to Earth,
upon the darkest hour
of our moonless night.
Our lofty dreams
shall remain still
as ink upon God’s skin..
inscribed as constellations
in clear skies.
And naught but flames
shall light the tails
still trailing in our wake..
for futures ones
observing our
behind.
