Poem 780

If time could be
rewound
to turn my future
into past.

If I could flip
the hourglass
upon its head
to tail my
forward
inside out
into my back.

Lord knows,
I’d walk this path
exactly as I did.
Retread the same
old set of footprints
backwards, left by me
upon this sandy beach,
for naught.. but Him.

The One
who came
to take the steps
before He had
the eyes
to see.

The One
who saw
their ghostly
outline prior
to developing
a firm belief.

The One
who held
His faith
before He
conquered
fears of facing
His impending
Death.

The One
who triumphed..
not because
He was immortal..
but because
He reached The End.
