Confessions of a Rose
Part I - “a me stesso”
I used to be a lover of only wisdom and duty.
Now, I am also a lover of truth and beauty.
By the former, I was crucified,
By the latter, I am now again reborn.
A wilting flower.. I shall be no more
consumed by my self-doubt
and self-inflicted scorn.
From now on, I am blooming petals and a bittersweet repose
to some.. but then to others I must be a prickly thorn upon a rose.
