Cherish.
Word of the day.
If only
we could learn
to hold
and cherish
those
for whom
we prayed.

Especially
when answers
to our prayers
don’t arrive
in ways
that we
expected
to receive.

God doesn’t
peddle us
snake oil
to solve
our problems..
only challenges
that stretch
our heart’s
capacity
to give.

His love is tough
to teach us that
already we are
strong..
and that
the love
we prayed for
was within us
all along.

All we must do
is learn
to cherish
what
we hold.
It’s messy
and confusing
and at times
so painful..
but I love you
far too well
with all my heart.

That’s why
I choose
to not let go.
