Poem 669

My love,
I plead to you..
don’t let me go.
Though I may be
as cold to you,
at times, as early
January snow.

Though I have done
and said things
that I still
badly regret..
know that I see you.
For The All of you.
Indeed.. I see you
as my dearest
friend.

I see you
as the love
that’s meant
for me to keep.
In this strange world
of transience..
you are my respite
from it all.
I find my rest in you..
because you are
so real.

Because you
see me too,
for all my flaws
and sins..
For all the times
I failed to be
the man
that you deserve.

But it is you alone
who drives me
to be better.
To become
The One
you shall,
in due time,
verily observe.

Through joy
and grief..
Through pain
and laughter.
Through
the many
moments
that we still
have left.

The One
who may be
taken from you
only by
the final muse
of every poet..
Death.
