to make a witch
confess?

She is beholden,
after all,
to her demonic
patron
through a vow
that
binds her tongue
with
its unholy force.

Only one element
is known
to make it break.
The very
element from which
the binding
force itself originates.
You must
suspend her
on a stake
over an open
flame.

If she is
righteous,
God shall
save her,
but if not..
with fiery pain,
the pyre’s heat
shall purify
her heart
again..
and then
return her
back to ash..
from which
she came.
