Our paradise..
Lost.
Sunk with its
costs.
Treasures of
love.
Buried in me.
Dead they lay now
on the bottom
of The Ocean-sea.
Irretrievable.
In stillest depths
of our ineffable..
and inconceivable.
What beauty is there
to be found?
Upon the long forgotten,
Sun-scorched
battlefields of striving..
Is it in The Many
corpses scattered
on this holy ground?
Is it in blood we spilled?
The coins we spent?
Is it in hidden daggers
sharpened just enough
to cause us pain,
but not enough
to spell our end?
In love and war,
indeed it’s true,
that all is fair.
Whether they end
in loss or triumph.
Whether fought
on water
or on land.
Whether
The Square
finally circles..
or whether
The Circle
squares.
All that I pray for
is to make it
to The Other Side..
or else to find
my sweet surrender
in the loving arms
of Death..
Another outcome
that I wouldn’t mind.
