Poem 594

Climbing
against
each other
to the top of
The Mountain.

To a plateau
where fortune
flows like milk
out of life’s
fountains.

Upon the bottom
of its basin,
many fortunes
still remain
from those
who made their wish.

Some threw
a penny or a dime.
Some threw
their beauty, wits,
or loving time.

Each threw
into this Pushka
of an overflowing
charity dish..
However much they could.
However much they wished.

Why climb against me,
though?
Let’s climb together
instead.
Because together,
we are strong..
and fortune favors
just The Ones
who hold
The Dragon
by the reins
together.

All. Night. Long.
