As you can surely tell,
I’ve not been sleeping all that much these days.
I’ve come to find out,
Life’s a slumber in its own right anyways.
The sort of slumber where you sleep, but see no dreams.
Instead, they’re broadcasted straight into your skull on national TV.
Can anyone still tell the difference between a truth and a lie?
Can anyone recall the day when any semblance of sense and reason gave its last goodbye?
Both you and I were there.
What stopped us, then, from hitching that ride as well?
There are no answers.
Damnesia adorns both of our paths,
And each will wind and turn until it terminates at you-know-where.
So wake up,
Pack your bags,
And don’t forget to bring your sleepless dreams along.
You’ll need them, friend.
Farewell.
