Tell me, dear Rabbi..
Why is it that we call
our regular partaking
in religious ritual
“observance”?
If we are the observers..
what exactly
may be said to be
observed?
Is any holy meaning
latent in this word?

Dear Talmid..
That which is observed
in our observance
of religious ritual..
is none other than
HaShem Himself.
For, though He may be
The All-seeing and
The Ever-present..
He only manifests
to us as mere reflections..
glimpses in the mirror
of our mortal flesh.

So, only when consistently
we make ourselves
observe our faith in Him..
we make ourselves
observers of His love..
boundless and infinite..
and flowing generously
from within.
