Poem 389

There is the quiet ticking
of a clock in earnest..
and then, there is
the loud and shameless..
trickling of sand.
But neither one of them
is Time, however..
merely its shadows
living in our head.

For, Time is not the moved..
it is the mover.
Time is The All-pervading
and All-mighty ruler,
that we never find
ourselves at liberty
to openly defy.

And it is Time, indeed,
that is The All-observing Eye.
For, it does not exist
merely within
the present moment..
The All of Time
exists together,
always and at once.

It is The Stillness
that appears
as flow of change..
As earthly orbiting
around The Sun..
but only when a slice of it
is narrowly observed..
through The Eye
of The One.
