Poem 366

Ohh, little sparrow..
Tell me, darling,
what’s an angry bird?
I think it is The One
who needlessly got hurt.
Who faced some mean,
unkind, and harsh,
bad people in her life.
But what I hold for you
behind my back
is not a knife.

There is no threat to you
from me.. only a tickle.
Don’t frighten at my
rough and tumble teasing
and my thorny prickle.

And though my nest
is only meant
to shelter and protect
my homeward dove..
both you and I
know very well
that there are
many forms of pure
and unadulterated love.

You are still welcome
to find rest upon
my branches..
and to peck upon
my many sweet
and bitter fruits.

There is
no malice in me
towards you..
For, I accept
and welcome you
exactly as you are..
that is my loving truth.
