Poem 316

I tell ye,
there is something greater
than The Temple.
One day, even The Temple
shall become naught more
than but a wall.
For, every monolith of dogma
that stands tall..
The All-Father Kronos
shall eventually
turn to nothing.
Each and every one
shall fall.

Even The Temple of His flesh
that lives within The Word..
Shall turn to naught,
but dust and ash,
once His prescriptions
are perceived
for what they are..
a vestigial structure
from the days of olde.

The only place endurable,
where God may truly live,
cannot be either here
or there.
For, every culture,
every group of people
somehow saw His presence..
except only through
their own lens.

Each saw The One
or other aspect
of a force preceding
and exceeding us..
Which I refer to
as The All.
We may not ever know
Their proper name..
this truth about Them
must be certain though..

The True Temple
where They dwell
is in the head
and heart
of the believer.
Where Their being
is perceived
by the perceiver..
and where
Their presence
is received
by the receiver.
