Poem 259

The fifth muse
I shall stumble on
must surely be
Death.
I have been
courting her already..
Though she hasn’t
found me yet.

How do I know
The Fifth One
shall appear?
Well, that is easy..
Death shall come
for all of us,
that much is clear.

In all seriousness though,
I beckon you to understand..
Five points are found
upon a pentagram.
And if The Devil’s Sigil
gestures so..
then so it shall
inevitably be..
Such is the will to power
of The Elder Gods,
don’t look at me!

We already have
The Sun, The Ocean,
and The Rose..
last but not least,
we have The Earth,
of course.
All of these symbolize
beginnings..
in their own respect.
Death, however,
represents..
the end.

For now,
I leave the fates in peace
to do their weaving.
The hour has not come
for me to yet again partake..
in my profane and wicked
ritual of bleeding.

There is much life
to cherish still..
Much in its depth..
Much in its breadth..
Until the hourglass
runs dry..
That’s when I’ll know..
My time has come..
To Greet Death.
