Why is it
that The Poet
gets along
quite well
with queers?
Is it because
in some, of yet,
unopened closet..
The Poet finds
direct affiliation
with the community
mentioned here?
The truth is
less straightforward
than it may appear.
Nayy,
The Poet’s wisdom
isn’t all too joyful..
And The Poet’s
science..
isn’t all too gay.
And if you must
tease him
on account of that..
then do your worst.
His loins are girded
for whatever
snarky comment
you may have
to throw his way.
Queers have it harder
than The Poet..
because the sum
of all adversities
imposed by our society
is greater on their end.
The reason why The Poet
can, nevertheless,
relate to them..
is because they also
are the spinners
of their own authentic
narrative thread.
Their truth goes
unapologetically
against the social grain..
And yet,
despite the risks
of doing so,
their innermost identity
they readily embrace.
On any day,
The Poet stands
with those
who stand for
themselves..
Against the norm
imposed by so called
“good and just”
of our society..
to hell with them.
The strength
to stand collectively
for freedom
of the individual
over conformity
to the conventional..
that is the joyful
wisdom of the queers,
most precious
to The Poet’s eye.
That’s why
The Poet
finds himself
quite firmly..
not among the
“good and just”…
but rather
on the queer
and rainbowy side.
