Why does the bite
of the mad gadfly
sting?
Because
it opens up a door
for you to painfully rethink..
your own relationship
to the unthinkable.
The so called
“good and just”
would claim
the gadfly
is The Devil!
the corruptor
of impressionable
youths, but nayy..
For, it is
the “good and just”
who must insist..
upon the preservation
of their old,
established ways.
The gadfly,
on the other hand,
never insists..
Towards unthinkable
he gestures merely..
for his beloved pupils
to consider critically.
He does not fool himself,
not all of what he says
is meant to stick..
only the soundest
and most useful
shall persist.
The rest of it shall
gently fall away.
He spoketh thus
upon his execution day:
“””
Beloved pupils..
Cometh now my time..
I beckon thee
to live a life of virtue,
self-defined..
while you harmoniously
co-exist
in love and peace..
and grieve me not
in Death,
my children, please..
I am not truly
leaving you behind..
For, we are merely
many scattered
pieces..
of The All-mighty’s
universally immortal
mind.
