Poem 20

You’re either shrewd enough to know the answer,
Too dim to give a damn about the question,
A daring dreamer, unafraid to pay the toll of gravity,
Or a delinquent, feasting on fermented fruits of levity.
A vast majority, however, has the gall and nerve,
To stand upon the very summit of this Sisyphean curve,
Feet planted firmly in the shallow soil of the Gilded Mean.
They form the clockwork of the Primate-Product-Profit machine.
