some people
wouldn’t have the courage
to believe in God Almighty..
even if He stood before them
in the flesh and bone.
some people are presented
with the miracle of love..
and still they choose
to wish it all away..
to leave it be.. alone.

within His eye
is a reflection
of a path not taken.
whether it truly were
for our best..
or if we were, in fact,
sorely mistaken.
in any case..
a path not taken
is a path that we
don’t get to see
unfold.

where are we led instead?
except for Him,
nobody knows..
it is a story yet untold..
the answer sought
is not yet set in stone..
but in due time,
we shall observe
the end result
of following this path
beyond a doubt.

He shall reveal it to us
many years from now,
when we grow old
and our youthfulness
runs out..
who will be there
for us then
to behold?
for us to love?
for us to hold?
